As Builder Olusesan Mayokun Daini’s tenure as Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) comes to an end, he penned a heartfelt exit note to the good people of the LCDA.
In his message, Daini expressed deep emotions of gratitude, humility, and fulfillment, reflecting on the eight-year journey he shared with the people.
Daini was first elected in July 2017 and has since worked tirelessly to restore faith in grassroots governance, improve lives, and touch every ward, every home, and every heart with purposeful leadership. Under his leadership, the council achieved significant milestones, including infrastructural development, uplifted schools, upgraded healthcare, empowered youth and women, revenue reforms, and digital transformation.
According to Daini, “From infrastructural development to uplifted schools, from upgraded healthcare to empowered youth and women, from revenue reforms to digital transformation—our footprints now speak where words may fail.” He cherished the moments that defined his tenure, including a market woman’s smile as her stall got a new roof, a child whose school bag was filled, a youth who found purpose through empowerment drives, and an elder whose concerns shaped policies.
Daini credited his success to three guiding principles: integrity, service, and love for the people. He also acknowledged the support of key stakeholders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Sen. Mikhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Rep. Babajimi Benson, traditional rulers, religious leaders, artisans, market leaders, CDAs/CDCs, women and youth groups, his Vice Chairman, the Leader and Councillors of the Legislative Arm, Council Executive Members, the Council Manager, and the entire management and staff of the LCDA.
Daini expressed gratitude to his family, who sacrificed more than the public ever saw, and to his successor, whom he urged to lead with compassion, wisdom, and open ears. He also appreciated his colleagues who are bowing out, saying “your camaraderie and solidarity over the years will never be forgotten.”
As Daini exits office on July 27, 2025, he does so with no regret, but with a full heart of gratitude to every single resident of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. His legacy will continue to inspire and shape the future of the council, and his commitment to its growth and glory remains eternal.
“May our LCDA continue to rise. May our people continue to thrive. God bless Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA. God bless Lagos State. God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Daini concluded.
