Ikorodu Division witnessed a peaceful and orderly local government election today, despite a relatively low voter turnout. Residents from the six local government areas – Ikorodu Local Government, Ikorodu North LCDA, Ikorodu West LCDA, Ijede LCDA, Imota LCDA, and Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA – exercised their franchise, casting their votes in a fair and well-organized electoral process.

Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, described the process as fine, saying it has been okay. He understood that some people have gone to vote while others are still at home, and the turnout so far has been okay. Prince Abiodun Ogunleye expressed optimism about the APC winning all the seats, chairmanship and councillorship.

Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member of the House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, shared a similar sentiment, expecting a landslide victory for the APC. The Labour Party and PDP are unlikely to perform well, according to him. Rep. Benson attributed the impressive turnout to the public’s understanding of the current economic situation and their support for the government’s agenda.

Rep. Benson praised the APC candidates, describing them as phenomenal. Ladega is exceptionally well, a philanthropist who understands the needs of the people. Apanishile is a young, up-and-coming politician with a private sector background. Arieun is excellent, young, and dynamic, with a strong following among the youth. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba is a capable female leader returning for a second term. SKO in Ikorodu West has built infrastructure and is expected to consolidate on it. Hon. Benson, the chairmanship candidate of Imota, has a rich pedigree and is expected to take Imota to the next level.

He assessed the election generally, saying the process has been peaceful with no violence anywhere. The turnout is gradually increasing, and he believes Ikorodu will have a huge turnout in the election.

Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom described the election process as commendable, citing impressive voter turnout and the cooperation of the people.

Adeboruwa urged everyone to remain peaceful and cooperate with election officials to ensure a free and fair election. He expressed optimism about the outcome, praying that the incoming elected council officials would deliver effective services to the people.

Dr. Adeola Jokomba, State Secretary of APC and former Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, commended the election process, describing the turnout as brilliant. People are appreciating the government’s efforts, and he gave the election process a score of 80 out of 100.

Prince Adedayo Ladega, the APC Chairmanship candidate, expressed satisfaction with the election, praising the wonderful turnout and the excellent job done by LASIEC officials.

Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanishile described the election as free and fair, although there were some issues in other places that were handled with care. He called on the electoral body to improve their strategies for a smoother process.

Hammed Aroyewun, APC candidate for Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, praised the peaceful atmosphere and encouraging turnout. The election process has been well-organized, and people are exercising their voting rights peacefully. The assumption of low voter turnout is not entirely correct, as some people voted in the morning while others voted in the afternoon. The report from across the LCDA has been very impressive.
