In a resounding declaration of its commitment to the youth, the Lagos State Government is proud to present the Greater Lagos Rising With The Youth Concert.

This event serves as a testament to the Government’s promise to ensure that it remains youth-friendly, with a special focus on talent discovery in sports and entertainment, while upholding the cherished tradition of recreation and fun that the Center of Excellence is renowned for.

The concert is scheduled to take place across the IBILE formation of the state is holding on the 21st of May 2023 and the Ikorodu division version of it is holding at the prestigious Ikorodu Town Hall.

Holding as part of activities to celebrate the inauguration of Governor Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Deputy Governor Dr. Kadir Obafemi Hamzat for a second term in office, this momentous occasion no doubt marks the dawn of a new era for Lagos State, one that recognizes the immense potential of its youth and seeks to empower them to reach greater heights.

Under the theme of “Greater Lagos, Rising,” the concert promises an exhilarating experience for attendees. Starting at 10 am prompt, the Ikorodu division will come alive with an array of captivating performances, showcasing the diverse talents present within our youth. From thrilling dance displays to captivating music and comedy acts, the concert will be a feast for the senses, filled with vibrant energy and infectious enthusiasm.

The Greater Lagos Rising with the Youth Concert aims to foster an environment where the youth can flourish and thrive, providing them with a platform to showcase their talents and inspire others to pursue their passions. It represents a collective effort to harness the immense potential of Lagos’ youth, propelling them towards success while promoting the values of teamwork, dedication, and creativity.

The event which will parade notable entertainment acts from the division such as TY Sleek, Dhee P, Da’Fresh Olorin, ATM, Hypeman Topz, Hypeman Morgan, Meyrah, Anthony CFR, Lammy Steps, and a host of others with the renowned Ace Fuji act, Alhaji Sulaimon Adio “Atawewe” as headline artiste and the duo of celebrated Still Young and Hold Something as MCs is an opportunity to come together, celebrate, and be part of a historic event that embraces the immense potential within the youth of Lagos. The Greater Lagos Rising with the Youth Concert promises to be an unforgettable experience filled with excitement, entertainment, and the promise of a brighter future.

Rep. Babajimi Benson member House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency expatiate the need to bring more projects to Ikorodu federal constituency in a recent media parley with Ikorodu media forum on the 20th of February, 2023.

According to Rep. Babajimi Benson Chairman House Committee on Defense stated facts on the need to bring more developmental projects to Ikorodu federal constituency.


“A lot of federal constituency you see, have two or three constituencies and this three Local Government is smaller than Ikorodu federal constituency.”

“I believe there is still a lot to bring to the table, particularly when it comes to libraries, universities, there is still a lot to offer. Ikorodu is a very challenging federal constituency as a result of the uniqueness of its size.”

“Ikorodu also has one thousand CDAs. I have been to a constituency that only has a 100CDAs, I have been to a constituency where most of the roads are tiled, in Ikorodu,that doesn’t happen, every body wants democratic dividends,unfortunately the local government we have are also not getting the amount of funds they ought to be getting, you find out that some Local Government that have almost fifteen to sixteen percent infrastructure but still get allocations that is more than local governments without infrastructure at all.”

“There is injustice somewhere, we still need to go back to the drawing tables and rewrite the Local Government funding Local Government in Ikorodu should be getting what they deserve.”

“Those roads we are talking about, the state roads, some of them are Federal Government roads, which is not suppose to be, we still fix them so that Ikorodu federal constituency doesn’t lack behind. That also disturb my vision in doing greater bigger things because the little things are building up to the greater things.”

“If all the Local Government are connected, I believe there is still a lot to bring to the table particularly when it comes to health, investment will come in,health challenges will be minimal,the little things have to be fixed first before the big things, We still need bridges at the sabo area,ogolonto area, Imota rice mill has this will cut down travel time.”

“I believe there is still a lot to bring to the table particularly roads, schools, libraries The greatest benefit that come to Ikorodu federal constituency under my supervision is infrastructure, which I believe we will do more if elected for another term in office.

The All Progressive Congress Party (APC) Local Organizing Committee, Ikorodu Division, officially flagged off Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for President of the federal republic of Nigeria, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for second term in office, Senator Tokunbo Abiru for Senate Lagos East Senatorial District, Rep. Babajimi Benson for House of Representatives Hon. Abiodun Moshood Aro (AMA), for Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo for Ikorodu constituency 1 Campaign at the Alajede’s Palace Pavilion.

The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, Bldr. Olusesan Daini who was the anchor of the campaign flag off The Council Boss took the gathering on a memory lane of the long-term effects of PDP’s sixteen years of lousy policy implementations on Nigeria’s economy, human capital and infrastructural development.

He further stated that the effects would soon elapse when Asiwaju Bola Hammed Tinubu becomes the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State Government and member of the Lagos Advisory Council in his remarks, he urged the gathering to vote for all the APC candidates.

Sen. Adetokunbo Abiru in his remarks congratulates the people of Ikorodu Constituency II for the choice of AMA and appealed to the people to support and vote for the APC Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all candidates of the APC.

Also speaking at the event is Rep. Babajimi Benson, member of the Federal House of Representatives urged the gathering to expect transformation from the APC Government when Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu becomes the President.

The Chairman House Committee on Defense implore the people to vote massively for Asiwaju Tinubu as President, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru for Senate, his humble self, Hon. Babajimi Benson for Federal House of Representatives, Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as Lagos State Governor, Hon. Hon. (Mrs) Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba who was the host Chairman in her own remarks “With your PVC vote for All Progressives Congress, Vote for all our candidates, for a greater Nigeria, for a greater Lagos State, For a greater Ikorodu Division.”

The immediate past Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Fatiu Jimoh Salisu also addressed the people and reiterated the importance of voting for all APC Candidates in the forthcoming elections.

In line with the monthly iCare food bags distribution, iCare Food bank of Rep. Babajimi Benson Chairman House Committee on Defense distributed 1,000 food bags popularly known as Apo Aanu for December edition.
The food bags were distriuted to widows, physically challenged and others in dire need to celebrate the Yuletide in good spirit.

Sir David Sumoni Lagos State University Pro Chancellor commend the good efforts of Rep Babajimi Benson in the past years as the representative of Ikorodu federal constituency.

Bldr. Olusesan Daini Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA in his remarks “I am glad to witness the monthly APO ANU event, the distribution of food bags to the good people of Ikorodu division this is not a party thing but for everyone living in ikorodu axis of Lagos state, Rep Babajimi Benson is a representative for all and not APC alone”.

He appeals to everyone present at the event to endeavour to vote for all the APC candidates at all levels from the Presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and all other APC candidates comes February and March 2023 consecutively.

Mr. Rotimi Erogbogbo Chairman Ikorodu Oga Development Association also commend the efforts of Rep Babajimi Benson having been doing this since 2016, he also use the opportunity to endorse him for another term in office.

In his remarks “The purpose of this gathering is to thank everyone of you for giving me the party ticket to represent you one more time at the green Chamber, and I promise I will never let you down, and I also want to seek for permission before commence my campaign in earnest.”

Ikorodu Division Independent Youth Movement visit Rep Babajimi Benson the member House of Representatives Ikorodu federal constituency.

The group promises to work for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Rep Babajimi Benson and other APC candidates.

The group said its focus will be on non APC members, and new people trooping in Ikorodu, which they believe it will help the party to emerge in the upcoming election.

Rep Babajimi Benson appreciate Ikorodu Division Independent Youth for her Loyalty to work for the party, and he commend them for coming up with reasonable tactics to support the party.
