In a passionate plea, Hajia Habibat Isa Lapena, Convener of Volunteers 2027 for Governor Bago’s second term, has called on the good people of Niger State to rally behind Governor Muhammad Umaru Bago’s re-election bid. She extolled the Governor’s transformative leadership and outstanding achievements since assuming office.

According to Lapena, Governor Bago is a listening leader who has consistently demonstrated his love for the people. She highlighted his notable achievements, including his innovative approach to digital literacy, which earned him the Digital Governor of the Year award at the Nigeria GOVTECH Conference and Awards 2024. The Governor has also trained market traders, artisans, and children in technology use and robotics.

Lapena further noted that Governor Bago has boosted agricultural development through the acquisition of over 1,000 tractors and the establishment of 41 rice processing mills across the state. His administration has also initiated several infrastructure projects, including road construction and rehabilitation, and developed 100km of roads with drainages and solar lighting in Minna Township.

The Governor’s commitment to education and healthcare was also emphasized, with the establishment of the Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Teaching Hospital and the introduction of scholarship programs to support students. Lapena highlighted the Governor’s numerous awards and recognition, including the 2024 Voice of Africa (VOA) Canada Torchbearer Award and SUN Newspaper’s 2024 Governor of the Year in Agriculture.

Lapena emphasized that Governor Bago’s leadership has brought transformative changes to Niger State, and his commitment to the welfare of the people has earned him widespread admiration. She urged the people of Niger State to support the Governor’s re-election bid, citing his listening ear, achievements, and love for the people.
