In a bid to promote cultural awareness and education among Lagos students, the Eko Youth Tourism Club has launched the Lagos Students Tourism Initiatives. According to Comrade Oluwaseun Ogunye, Convener of the Eko Youth Tourism Club, the initiative aims to promote cultural awareness and education among Lagos students through tourism, foster community engagement and social responsibility, and support sustainable tourism practices and local economic growth.

The initiative has several key objectives. Firstly, it seeks to educate students about Lagos’ diverse cultures, traditions, and history. By doing so, the initiative hopes to encourage students to participate in local tourism initiatives and develop a deeper appreciation for their heritage. Additionally, the initiative aims to implement eco-friendly practices and responsible tourism principles, ensuring that tourism activities in Lagos are sustainable and environmentally conscious.
Furthermore, the Lagos Students Tourism Initiatives will provide opportunities for young people to develop skills and knowledge in the tourism industry. This will not only benefit the students but also contribute to the growth and development of the local tourism sector. The initiative will also showcase Lagos’ attractions, landmarks, and cultural events to promote domestic and inbound tourism, highlighting the state’s rich cultural heritage and tourist potential.
