In another major stride towards grassroots development and infrastructure renewal, the Executive Chairman of Ayobo-Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni, today commissioned the newly constructed asphalt road and four culverts at Revelation Street, Cosmos Bus Stop.

The 546-meter road project, executed and completed in under six weeks, is part of the council’s strategic commitment to improving connectivity, enhancing access, and fostering socioeconomic growth within the LCDA.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Otunba Oluwaloni stated that the project goes beyond laying asphalt and erecting culverts. “This project is not just about concrete and asphalt; it is about creating a more connected, accessible, and inclusive community for the good people of Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA,” he said.

The Chairman acknowledged the crucial role played by the council’s engineering team, contractors, and project supervisors, expressing gratitude for their dedication and professionalism. He also appreciated the patience and cooperation of the residents throughout the construction period.
Highlighting the broader impact of the road, Otunba Oluwaloni affirmed that the infrastructure would stimulate local commerce, improve mobility, and boost public confidence in governance. “We are not just constructing roads; we are building futures,” he declared.

In a special appeal to landlords, the Chairman urged for moderation in rent increases. “Yes, this development will impact the socio-economic profile of the area, and rents may go up. But let us be considerate. Do not say because we have done your road, you will now increase rents arbitrarily. It should not be so,” he cautioned.
The commissioning drew praise from traditional and political leaders.

The Olu of Ipaja, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr.) Kolawole Ajani Egundupe, lauded the chairman for transforming Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA within such a short period. “Honestly, I never believed this road would be constructed in 10 years. But to see it started and completed in just 6 weeks is unprecedented,” the royal father said. He commended Otunba Oluwaloni for bringing peace and harmony to the council, saluting his courage and doggedness in steering the affairs of the LCDA.

The monarch also called on residents to continue praying for the chairman.

Former Chairman of the council, Hon. Shakiru Yusuf, also described Otunba Oluwaloni as “a miracle worker and a magician,” noting that his administration has brought monumental development to Ayobo-Ipaja LCDA.

He particularly praised the recent upgrade of the Ishefun Public Health Centre, describing it as a major boost to the local health sector. Hon. Yusuf urged residents to continue supporting the All Progressives Congress (APC), to ensure the continued delivery of the dividends of democracy.
