In a grand ceremony held earlier today June 17th, Builder Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), officially presented a certificate of office to Chief Mrs. Adenike Modinot Wahab, the newly installed Iyaloja General of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

During his speech, Builder Daini highlighted the significance of the market association, noting that it is one of the oldest and most honored within Lagos State. He emphasized the constitutional responsibility of local governments in supervising and maintaining markets, citing the Fourth Schedule of the Nigerian Constitution and the Lagos State Market Board Rule.

The Executive Chairman congratulated Chief Mrs. Wahab on her new role and urged the Market Association to offer their support, cooperation, prayer, and guidance. He expressed confidence in her ability to lead the market association effectively.

He also acknowledged the presence and power of traditional institutions, clarifying that the local government’s role in market supervision is constitutional and not in rivalry with traditional institutions. He stated that the ceremony marked the fulfillment of his oath to defend the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman Daini wished Chief Mrs. Wahab all the best in her new assignment and presented her with the certificate, formalizing her position as the Iyaloja General of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA.

Hon. Jimoh Ogunmuyiwa, the Baba Oloja General of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA expressed his joy and satisfaction over Chief Mrs. Adenike Modinat Wahab as the new Iyaloja General.

He praised Chief Wahab’s qualities, citing her extensive experience in marketing, both locally and internationally. He noted that her social nature, gentle demeanor, and people skills make her an ideal candidate for the role.

The Baba Oloja General prayed for continued growth, prosperity, and good health for Chief Wahab and the entire market community. He expressed his happiness that the appointment had finally come to fruition, and he looked forward to seeing the positive impact Chief Wahab would have in her new role.
