
In celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, Senator Tokunbo Abiru has distributed food packs to 12,000 households across the 16 local government areas (LGAs) and local council development areas (LCDAs) in Lagos East Senatorial District. The initiative, which took place on June 4, 2025, also included the distribution of 75 cows and 200 rams to royal fathers, party leaders, clerics, and community stakeholders.
The food packs, containing rice and garri, were branded with the names of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Senator Abiru, highlighting the senator’s alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda and national food security efforts. This outreach program, part of Senator Abiru’s #DoingGood initiative, targeted vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, the elderly, women, and unemployed youths.
Speaking at the event, Senator Abiru reaffirmed his commitment to supporting constituents during festive seasons, emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts to alleviate hardship.
The senator expressed his gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his leadership and vision, which inform the Renewed Hope Agenda. He also appreciated the support of community leaders, including Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, for their endorsement of his initiatives.
Abiru urged all stakeholders to join hands with him in building a brighter future for the community, recognizing the challenges many face and pledging to do everything possible to address them. This commitment is part of his broader efforts to promote sustainable community development through various humanitarian initiatives.
The event drew commendations from community leaders, including Prince Abiodun Ogunleye, former Deputy Governor of Lagos State.
