Hon. Salau Rukayat Ibukun, Supervisor for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation in Ikorodu West LCDA, Congratulates her symbol Rep. Babajimi Benson on being named Ikorodu Man of the Year.

In a heartfelt tribute, she praised Benson as a trailblazer, torchbearer, and titan of hope, whose purposeful politics and tireless impact have made a lasting difference in the lives of many.

“To a Trailblazer, Torchbearer, and Titan of Hope… Congratulations to MY SYMBOL, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Akíkanjú ọmọ Ikorodu, the Aṣiwaju whose steps illuminate our path, the Jagunmolu of purposeful politics, the one whose hands build and uplift,” she said.

According to Hon. Ibukun, Rep. Benson’s dedication to service has been instrumental in uplifting women, youths, and communities, allowing them to thrive. She commended his quality representation and purposeful leadership, which have become a beacon of hope for many. “You showed us that politics is not just power – it is purpose. Not just title – it is tireless impact,” she said.

Hon. Ajibike expressed gratitude for Rep. Benson’s mentorship, which has inspired many, including herself. “Mo dúpẹ́ fún gbogbo ohun tí ẹ ń ṣe fún Ikorodu Division. For mentoring many like me, for showing that women, youths, and communities can thrive – because of your quality and purposeful representation,” she added.

She prayed that heaven would continue to enlarge his coast, increase his grace, and multiply his strength to do even more for humanity. “May God continue to crown your efforts with divine speed, increase your influence, and preserve your legacy for generations unborn,” she said.

The tribute was concluded with a Yoruba phrase, “Ẹ máa bá lọ, sir – àdúrà wa ń tẹ̀ lé yín lẹ́yìn,” which translates to “Keep going, – our prayers are following you.” Hon. Ibukun signed off as Supervisor for Women Affairs & Poverty Alleviation, Ikorodu West LCDA, Agent of Change, Proud iCare Woman, and Daughter of Grace.
