Stakeholders of Ward C3 in Igbogbo/Bayeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Lagos State, Nigeria, are urging leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to consider their ward for the chairmanship position. Despite being a consistent winner in elections and a stronghold of the party, Ward C3 has been denied the opportunity to produce the chairman since the LCDA’s creation in 2003.
According to Apostle Lekan Lucas, Chairman of the Ward C3 Movement For Chairman, the community has been loyal to the APC and has positioned the party as the preferred choice in the ward through their grassroots political activities.
Ward C3 is one of the indigenous and INEC-created wards in Ikorodu division, specifically Bayeku/Offin/Oreta. Several qualified candidates have emerged from Ward C3, including:
Hon. Sanni Ishola FC’S
Fellow Chartered Institute of Stockbrockers
Barr Olatoun Atinuke Adekoya (FICMC) a fellow of the Institute of chartered Mediators and Conciliators
Hon. Nurudeen Alimi: A community leader and Council Leader of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA
Hon. Okadina-Maja Nuraini Mobolaji: Vice Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA
Hon. Shakiru Moritan Seidu: A politician, seasoned journalist, and ex-banker
The residents of Ward C3 are appealing to APC leaders to favorably consider their request, citing their loyalty to the party and the qualifications of their candidates. With the chairmanship position up for grabs, the community hopes their voices will be heard and their candidates given a chance to lead.
