
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched the distribution of professional kits to midwives in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The event, held in Asaba, Delta State, is part of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a program aimed at improving healthcare delivery in the country.
Senator Tinubu emphasized the importance of providing midwives with the necessary tools and kits to perform their duties effectively. She noted that the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to improving healthcare delivery in Nigeria.
The First Lady also announced a N50 million business recapitalization grant for 1,000 petty traders in Delta State. The Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, pledged to match the grant with an additional 1,000 petty traders.
Traditional rulers in Delta State, led by the Orodje of Okpe, HRM Major General Felix Mujak Peruo, expressed their gratitude to the First Lady and President Tinubu for their efforts in improving the lives of Nigerians. They assured their support for President Tinubu’s administration and pledged to support him for re-election in 2027.
The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Salako, assured that the Federal Government is working to close the gap in accessibility and affordability of healthcare, especially for pregnant women and mothers.
The professional kits were presented to the wives of governors and RHI state coordinators for the South-South geopolitical states by Senator Tinubu.
