The Association also expressed its gratitude for his support.
The Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Builder Olusesan Daini, represented by Hon. Nureini Okedina-Maja, Vice Chairman, called on residents and staffs to engage in good deeds during the holy month of Ramadan and beyond.
He emphasized the importance of kindness, compassion, and generosity, not only during Ramadan but also in daily life. He encouraged everyone to extend good deeds to their colleagues at work, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.
In his welcome address, Mr. Abdullateef Badmus, the Council Manager Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA acknowledged the efforts of the chairman, and commended the committee members for their hard work in organizing the gathering.
He also extended his gratitude to the guests for taking the time to attend, stating that their presence was a testament to listening to word of Allah in the month of Ramadan Mr. Abdullateef urged the guests to listen attentively to the lecturer, emphasizing the importance of the message being conveyed.
Delivering the Lecture, Sheikh Abdulbasit Katibi, popularly known as Ike Anobi, expounded on the certainty of death and the importance of preparing for the afterlife. He began by posing a thought-provoking question: “What remains after death?”
Sheikh Katibi cautioned against excessive attachment to worldly possessions, emphasizing that no matter how much one accumulates, everything will eventually be left behind. Citing the Quran, he explained that Allah created humans to live and to leave, and that every individual will ultimately depart at their appointed time.
He stressed that life is a journey with a predetermined end, and that death is a transition no one can escape. This realization, he noted, should shift people’s focus from temporary gains to eternal rewards, reminding them that preparation for the afterlife is just as important as any worldly pursuit.
Sheikh Katibi also reflected on the stages of human existence, highlighting the divine order in creation. He emphasized that while people meticulously plan for their earthly future, few prepare for their eternal future. He urged the audience to balance material pursuits with spiritual preparation, emphasizing that true success lies in what one sends ahead for the Hereafter.
Concluding the lecture, Sheikh Katibi reminded listeners that life is fleeting, and death is inevitable. Rather than fearing it, he advised embracing it with wisdom and preparation. A person’s true legacy, he asserted, is not found in wealth or status but in their deeds and impact on others.
