
Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, Executive Chairman of Ijede Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has reiterated the council’s commitment to education as a cornerstone of progress. Represented by Vice Chairman Hon. Femi Kabir, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized the significance of investing in the youth, stating that “Education is key, and a nation can only develop robustly by investing in the youth.”
At the 4th edition of the free JAMB/UTME forms distribution, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba stated that the free JAMB forms, would enabled the indigent students to pursue their higher education.
In addition to the JAMB forms distribution, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba highlighted the council’s complementary initiatives focused on vocational training and digital literacy. These programs have recorded success, with young men and women trained in various arts and crafts receiving start-up tools to encourage development within the community.
Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba urged beneficiaries to take advantage of this opportunity to better their lives through brilliant academic performance. She assured the community of the council’s unwavering dedication to fostering educational opportunities and holistic human development.
Hon. Adijat Amusa, Supervisor for Education stated, “This is one of the initiatives of our chairman, and it is designed to support both indigenes and non-indigenes. We want to encourage them to pursue their educational careers and make it easier for them to access education.”
The initiative aims to provide support to students, enabling them to focus on their educational pursuits without financial burdens. Hon. Adijat Amusa urged the beneficiaries to take this opportunity seriously, stating, “I would implore the beneficiaries to take this as a very good opportunity. They should leverage on it, do well, and come out in flying colors. This will enable them to pursue their educational goals and aspirations.”
Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the council chairman, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, for providing them with the opportunity to further their education.
Ayini Elizabeth, one of the beneficiaries, initially thought the initiative was a scam but is now thankful for the opportunity. “At first, I thought it was a scam, but I appreciate the Chairman for giving us such an opportunity to further our education,” she said.
Alliu Quadri, another beneficiary, praised the chairman for inspiring many youths. “I appreciate the Chairman for inspiring many youths. Some people wanted to drop out after their WAEC, but with this initiative, there is hope for them,” he said.
Earnest Favour, a beneficiary, also expressed appreciation for the gesture. “I appreciate this gesture of giving free JAMB forms. I’m sure I’ll make you all proud. Once again, I appreciate Ijede LCDA for this opportunity,” she said.
This initiative is part of Ijede LCDA’s efforts to invest in the youth and promote educational opportunities. The council has consistently demonstrated its commitment to education, with significant improvements recorded in the educational sector.
