Rep. Babajimi Benson, member House of Representatives, Ikorodu federal constituency, today inspected ongoing road projects in Asolo-Agbede, Ikorodu West LCDA, and Abule-Eko to Ewu-Owa road in Ijede LCDA on Saturday, September 21st. The visit was crucial for gathering firsthand information from residents and provide reassurance on the projects’ progress.

In Asolo-Agbede, Rep. Benson witnessed the significant progress made on the road construction, likewise in Abule-Eko to Ewu-Owa road measuring 4.5 KM, is expected to be completed by January, 2025.

In his remarks, Rep. Babajimi Benson expressed his satisfaction with the progress of the Asolo-Agbede Road during the inspection earlier in the day.

He commended the efforts of Community Development Associations (CDAs), traditional leaders, youths, hotel owners, and residents for their support.

“What I saw here today, I’m impressed,” Benson said. “I appreciate the leadership for supporting the contractors. We will work on your requests, and upon completion in the next one month, we will make promises for the next phase of Agbede, which is quite long.”

Prince Niran Ogunbanwo, CDC Chairman Ikorodu North LCDA, expressed gratitude to Rep. Babajimi Benson for being a shining light in Ikorodu Division, he said everyone in the area has been cooperative from the hotel owners for providing accommodation to the contractors, Baale for ensuring security, also the youths.

“This road will serve about eight communities,” Prince Ogunbanwo said. “Once we leave this road, the other side is Ikorodu North; we are pleading for you to help us look into it.”

Alhaji Rasheed Hussein, said, “This is a great joy for us, as this road has been bad for so many years. We really appreciate you, Hon. Babajimi Benson for bringing ease to us.”

The next stop was the Abule-Eko to Ewu-Owa road project in Ijede LCDA, where residents joyfully welcomed Rep. Babajimi Benson for bringing tangible dividends of democracy after years of poor road conditions.

Addressing the residents, Rep. Benson announced that the 4.5 km road project is expected to be completed by January. He urged residents to be patient and cooperative with the contractors, ensuring a smooth process. Additionally, the road will feature streetlights to illuminate the environment.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, expressed her delight with the progress of the Abule Eko road reconstruction project. She is confident that this development will have a far-reaching impact, benefiting not only Ijede but to other 5 Local Governments and 30 wards in Ikorodu division.

She emphasized that the construction of Abule Eko, Ewu-Owa road, was made possible by Hon. Jimi Benson, which upon completion would bring significant positive change to the area. Abandoned shops and houses are being revitalized, and interest in local property is growing.

Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba also recognizes the importance of community support. The smooth progress of the Abule Eko road project is a testament to the collective efforts of the community and the vision for a more interconnected and prosperous area.
