In a remarkable event, Hon. Solawon Akeem Adewale, Chief Whip of Igbogbo Bayeku LCDA, empowered senior citizens with cash donations and celebrated his Golden Jubilee as Councillor of WARD C2. The event, held on July 29, 2024, marked his three-year anniversary in office.

In his address, highlighted his numerous achievements, including infrastructure development, healthcare initiatives, and educational support. He noted that through the Lagos State Ministry of Works, he facilitated the grading of roads in communities within WARD C2. Additionally, he secured the construction of a two-storey modern primary health center in Agunfoye community, facilitated through the State Ministry of Local Government Affairs.

Furthermore, Hon. Akeem Solawon distributes stationery materials to primary schools in his ward through Builder Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman Igbogbo-Baiyeku and provided empowerment funds to senior citizens to alleviate their standard of living. He also delivered a modern borehole facility to ease portable water issues in the community.

He expressed his gratitude to the Chairman, Builder Daini Olusesan, for his unwavering support to the Legislative Arm from the beginning of the administration. He acknowledged the Chairman’s continued support and the cordial relationship between the Legislative Arm and the Executive, which has fostered a harmonious working environment.

The event took a significant turn when Hon. Akeem Solowan officially declared his intention to contest for a second term as Councillor for WARD C2. He urged the people to support his ambition to “double the term, double the gains.” The declaration was met with loud ovation from party faithfuls and community members.

Prominent personalities, including Hon. Adebowale Bolowotan, Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Igbogbo/Bayeku LCDA, attended the event. The League of Former Councillors, comprising Hon. Shakiru Lawal, Hon. Ope Olusanya, Alhaja Iyabode Salisu, and Hon. Wasiu Olowu, were also in attendance. They spoke highly of Hon. Akeem Solowan’s achievements and collectively endorsed his second term ambition.
