In a proactive move to safeguard the health and well-being of its residents, the Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area LCDA has embarked on an extensive Cholera Advocacy Awareness Campaign. This initiative, led by the Executive Chairman, Builder Olusesan Daini, aims to educate and sensitize residents across all wards within the LCDA, targeting schools, markets, and communities at large.
Cholera, an acute diarrheal illness caused by infection of the intestine, remains a significant public health concern, particularly in regions with inadequate access to clean water and sanitation. Recognizing the critical need for proactive measures, the Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA has mobilized resources and expertise to combat the spread of this disease through comprehensive public education and awareness.
The campaign, which kicked off today, has already reached several communities, with health experts and officials from the LCDA engaging with residents, providing vital information on the causes, symptoms, and prevention of cholera. The campaign also focuses on promoting good hygiene practices, such as proper hand washing, sanitation, and clean water usage.
According to Builder Olusesan Daini, Executive Chairman of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, “We are committed to ensuring the health and well-being of our residents, and this campaign is a crucial step in preventing the spread of cholera in our community. We urge everyone to join us in this effort and take the necessary precautions to stay safe.”
