In a bid to alleviate the plight of constituents amidst prevailing hardships, *Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende*, Lagos State Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, initiated a significant food palliative intervention dubbed ‘Ounje Anu,’ distributing approximately 2,000 rice packs to households across the Badagry Federation—comprising Badagry LG, Olorunda LCDA, and Badagry-West LCDA.

The distribution, which took place on Sunday, March 10th, 2023, aimed to mitigate the impact of adverse circumstances on constituents, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing each other’s welfare during challenging times.

Hon. Ogunlende underscored the importance of community support, acknowledging that while his efforts alone may not suffice to feed the entire populace of Badagry, it remains his calling to extend succor to those in dire need, a commitment he has upheld through his RAK Foundation long before entering politics.

“Though this is just a small fraction of the people in Badagry, I believe this is a step in the right direction. One person cannot feed all the people in Badagry, but the ideology behind this could motivate others in Lagos and Nigeria who have the capacity to do it,”_* expressed the Commissioner.

He further highlighted the opportunity to complement the endeavors of national leaders such as *President Bola Tinubu* and his principal, Governor *Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu* of Lagos State, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in ensuring assistance reaches vulnerable communities nationwide.

Hon. Ogunlende affirmed that the ‘Ounje Anu’ initiative will seamlessly complement his annual Ramadan feeding program, which traditionally feeds over 300 individuals daily throughout the holy month. He reiterated that the initiative ensures inclusivity in this trying times, extending the relief beyond religious affiliations to encompass individuals from all religious backgrounds.

Among the diverse beneficiaries of the intervention were Tradesmen, Artisans, individuals living with disabilities, various youth groups, student bodies, as well as representatives from Arewa, Ndigbo, CAN, and the League of Imams.

In a show of gratitude, beneficiaries conveyed heartfelt appreciation to the Honorable Commissioner, offering prayers for continued upliftment and enhanced capacity. Notable voices including Mr. Gafar Meyon, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Badagry, and Mr. Gabriel Sedowe, Coordinator of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Badagry Chapter also offered commendation and words of encouragement for the Commissioner.
