As part of her administration’s commitment to improve infrastructural development, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba has kicked off the #LightUpIjede initiative with the installation of solar-powered street lights in major internal streets within the LCDA.

The installation commenced on Saturday, March 2nd, 2024. The street lights were distributed across the 4 wards in Ijede LCDA, covering from Ipakan community, Baale Street towards Ebute-Olowo; Aiyegbami Street to Okegbehin Street; Ijede Junction to Oke-Oyinbo Street; and Igbopa London towards Inowa Street.

The council chairman, who led her team to supervise the pilot phase of the project, noted the intervention will improve security for residents, making the areas safer and more welcoming, especially at night.

Also speaking, the Supervisor for works, Hon. Abiodun Ajayi, said the project will be extended to more major internal streets within the LCDA.
