… Fundraising Campaign was Launched for the Eweye of Isiu Modern Palace: Target of #300 Million

Saturday 16th of December, marked the end of the 2023 Isiu Eweye Day, the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS) honored several individuals for their exceptional contributions to the community. The event celebrated the achievements and dedication of prominent figures from various fields who have made a lasting impact on Isiu.

Among the distinguished honorees were Senator Mukhail Adetokunbo Abiru, Lagos East Senatorial District, Rep. Babajimi Adegoke Benson, a Member of the House of Representatives representing the Ikorodu federal constituency, Builder Adeola Adebisi Banjo, the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North (LCDA), Hon. Mrs. Jumoke Fausat Okuyiga (JP), the former Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA) Ikorodu North LCDA,
Princess Dr. (Mrs.) Rosemary Osula Mku-Atu JP, the Executive Vice Chairman of Nehemiah Grace Developers located in Aleke, Ikorodu, Chief Babatunde Samson Ogunberu, the Otunbalogun of Ijo St. Peter’s Anglican Church in Isiu, and lastly late Prince (Engr) Oluranti Oladehinde was posthumously awarded for his remarkable contributions to the Isiu community.

Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiu Kingdom, expressed his joy and optimism about the progress of Isiu. He acknowledged that while there are still challenges, the community is gradually overcoming them. The Eweye of Isiu emphasized the importance of a long overdue community project that has finally come to fruition.

The Eweye of Isiu extended his gratitude to Almighty God for His grace and mercy in making the 2023 edition of Eweye Day Celebration a success. He also recognized the efforts of the Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDAS), led by Otunba Musa Afolagbade Banwo, for their ingenuity and support in organizing the event. Eweye Day is an annual gathering that aims to foster unity and togetherness among the people of Isiu and its residents.

The Eweye of Isiu also commended the remarkable projects initiated by Hon. Jimi Benson, the community’s representative in the Federal House of Representatives. Notably, he mentioned the construction of a modern market and the installation of solar street lights, which have greatly benefited the community. The Eweye of Isiu expressed deep appreciation for Hon. Jimi Benson’s contributions to the development of Isiu.

Kabiyesi, expressed his appreciation for Senator Tokunbo Abiru’s contributions to the community. Senator Abiru constructed a modern maternity facility that rivals the standards of general hospitals in some states. This facility will greatly enhance healthcare services for the residents of Isiu.

Furthermore, Senator Abiru addressed the issue of inadequate power supply by purchasing a transformer, which has help improve the electricity situation in the town, among other good works

Kabiyesi also extended his appreciation to the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Bilden Adeola Adebisi Banjo, for his significant contributions to the community. The Chairman’s efforts and dedication have played a crucial role in the progress and well-being of Isiu.

Kabiyesi also commend other contributors to the development of Isiu Kingdom.

Otunba Musa Afolagbade Banwo, the Chairman of Isiu Eweye Development Association (ISEDASS), expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the collective efforts that led to the successful celebration. He praised the unity between the young and old members of the community, emphasizing their unwavering commitment and hard work towards shared goals.

Chairman Banwo specifically acknowledged the support of Senator Tokunbo Abiru, Honorable Adebisi Adeola Banjo, and Honorable Wale Ogunbela, the Supervisor for Agriculture. He also extended his appreciation to the elders, leaders, and youth groups, with a special mention of the Isiu Youth Development Movement (IYDM), highlighting their pivotal role in the 37-year history of the celebration.

In a spirit of gratitude, Banwo expressed his thanks to religious leaders, the executives of ISEDASS, and the committee members for their dedication. He attributed the success of the event to the collaborative efforts of various groups, echoing the Yoruba adage, “Bi omode ba dupe ore ana, a riomiran gba” (When a child appreciates a favor, he attracts more).

Alhaji Taiwo Odumbo, the Chairman of the Education Committee took the stage to announce the exceptional students who excelled in the competition. This special recognition was organized by the Education Committee as part of the Isiu Eweye Day celebrations, Dignitaries at the event took turns to present the Prizes to the outstanding Students.

Distinguished Senator Tokunbo Abiru ably represented by Dr. Saheed Ibikunle, Rep. Babajimi Benson, Hon. Nurudeen Agbaje, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali Adeboruwa of Igbogbo Kingdom, Oba Bashiru Sotonwa, Other Royal Fathers, Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan ably represented, Builder Olusesan Daini, Hon. Ameen Apanishile, Sons and Daughters of Isiu Kingdom, and well meaning personalities across Ikorodu Division and Lagos State at large joined the celebration.
