
Ijede LCDA organised stakeholders consultative forum on year 2024 budget/sustainable economic development earlier today.
Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba, the esteemed Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, was ably represented by Vice Chairman Hon. Kareem Kabir at the recently held budget stakeholders forum. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of this forum as a platform for meaningful interaction between the local government and its citizens.
As the closest tier of government to the people, the local government plays a crucial role in addressing the pressing issues affecting communities. Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba expressed the LCDA’s determination to ensure participatory governance and make a tangible impact on the lives of the residents.
Last year’s deliberations resulted in significant achievements, including the rehabilitation of the Library, Oke-Eletu Health Centre, and the ongoing construction of a Model Primary School in Igbe Ogunro. Additionally, the LCDA procured a new ambulance to enhance healthcare services in the area.
Building upon these successes, the Executive Chairman called upon all stakeholders present to identify and prioritize the most pressing issues in their respective communities. Each concern raised will be noted down and addressed in order of priorities. Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba aims to implement at least one notable project in every ward of Ijede LCDA.
Chief Jamiu Adisa Baba Golden jay, Hon. Ajetunmobi, Representative of Party Chairman, Alhaji Pharm, Chief Imam Ijede, Olisa Egbin, NYCN, and other esteemed stakeholders discussed vital issues affecting the community’s progress and development and things to consider in the 2024 Budget.
During the meeting, several concerns were raised, including the environment, roads, security, and employment opportunities. These key areas were identified as crucial components for the overall well-being and growth of Ijede LCDA.
Alhaja Kehinde Fesomu, the CDC Chairman of Ijede LCDA, there is a pressing need for schools in Aiyetoro. She emphasized that the focus should not solely be on Igbogbo Baiyeku, as the residents of Aiyetoro are expressing their deep concerns about the lack of educational facilities in their area.
In response to the concerns raised by the community regarding security, CSP Sunday, the dedicated Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ijede Police Station, acknowledged the collective responsibility in ensuring safety. He emphasized that security is not the sole responsibility of one person, but rather a shared effort among all individuals.
In an effort to ensure that the voices of all community members are heard and their needs are addressed, the Head of Department (HOD) of the budget, Mr. Olusoji Olugbenga, proposed the idea of splitting the community into different wards. Each ward will be given the opportunity to write down their specific requirements on a paper, providing valuable input for the budget planning process.
Hon. Kareem Kabir, Vice Chairman of Ijede LCDA, responded to the questions and contributions made by community members. He acknowledged the importance of these concerns and assured the community that the necessary steps would be taken to address them.
Other Stakeholders in attendance are; Council Leader Hon. Fadeyi, Hon. Kunle Olambiwonu SLG of the Council, Council Manager Mrs Akintola Adebimpe, Alh. Ajala, Hon. Pharm, CDC Chairman, Mr. Sodiq Mabeko Council Treasurer, Rev. Kolawole CAN Chairman, CSP Sunday DPO, Obateru of Egbin Kingdom ably represented by High Chief Lateef Saminu, Supervisors, Councillors, Management staffs, among others.
