On Saturday, August 26th, 2023, the Congress of Imota Students’ Union unanimously appointed Comrade Odufesi Temitope Rukayat as the first female president of the union.

This momentous decision came after the impeachment of the previous president, Comrade Amusa Ismail Olamiji.

In a statement released on the same day, the union directed the former president to hand over all union properties and documents to the newly appointed president by September 2nd, 2023.

Comrade Odufesi Temitope Rukayat, a 300-level Political Science Education student at Lagos State University, Ojo, and a fashion entrepreneur, had previously served as the acting president before her official appointment.

Her leadership as both the President of Imota Student’s Union and the Chairperson of ISU Week 2023 marks a significant milestone in the union’s history.
