The Council secretariat of Ikorodu North LCDA, Eweye, Isiu was filled to the brim today as the Executive Chairman of Ikorodu North LCDA distributed hundreds of food bags to residents of Ikorodu North LCDA.

The program tagged- “Owo-Ife Banjo” (Banjo’s Hand of Love) took another dimension today as the Chairman graciously gifts residents of the Tower resources food bags as palliatives to cushion the effects of the subsidy removal as against the usual cash gift support they are used to.

Beneficiaries of the kind gesture were drawn from the five wards of Ikorodu North LCDA majorly women came in their numbers to benefit from the benevolence of the Executive Chairman.

The Chairman while addressing the gathering said – “I have decided to switch the Owo-Ife Banjo which started with cash gifts to food bags in response to the high cost of food items to cushion the effects of subsidy removal on my people”.

As if that is not enough, the Chairman went a step ahead to give every beneficiary transportation fare back to their various abodes in a bid to ensure they suffer no loss for coming to the council secretariat.

“Prayer warriors” from the beneficiaries whom are highly elated came out in their numbers to offers prayers for the Chairman and his household for bringing smiles to their faces.

The Chairman also urged beneficiaries to be patient with the President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu noting that if there is no pain, there can be no gain. He went further to assure residents that the event would not be a one-off event affair as his administration is committed to ensuring no one in Ikorodu North goes to bed hungry.

To affirm their satisfaction, beneficiaries danced away their sorrow as the disc jockey played some of their favourite hit tracks.

For they have doubled the term, Banjo is doubling the gains.
