In a remarkable show of compassion and commitment to the welfare of the community, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo Alogba, the Executive Chairman of Ijede LCDA, distributed 2500 food packs as part of the “IJEDE TUNRAYO AYO NI TEMI” Food Support Program. The distribution took place earlier today, August 14, 2023, at the Council Secretariat.

Food items in the pack includes; Rice, beans, yam, spaghetti, rice flour, vegetables, groundnut oil, semovita, salt, and sugar. This variety ensures that the recipients have a balanced and nutritious meal.

Addressing the attendees, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo Alogba expressed her joy in hosting the fourth edition of the program. She explained that the initiative was launched at the beginning of her administration to provide raw food items to supplement the daily food consumption of the people. The program specifically aims to support the elderly and less privileged members of the community.

Recognizing the economic challenges faced by many, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba emphasized her administration’s determination to alleviate the hardships faced by the community. She mentioned that the food support program had been ongoing even before the removal of fuel subsidy, and today’s distribution was a timely response to the current difficult circumstances. The Chairman expressed her hope that this gesture would significantly mitigate the present hardships faced by the society.

Furthermore, Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba assured the community of her commitment to organizing another distribution before the end of the year, demonstrating her dedication to continuously supporting the people of Ijede LCDA.

Hon. Fathiu Salisu, the immediate past Chairman of Ijede LCDA, took to the podium to express his admiration for the accomplishments of the current administration led by Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba.

During his speech, Hon. Fathiu Salisu praised Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba for executing multiple projects that the community can be proud of, these projects include the completion of the Egbin Town Hall, renovation of the Ijede Library, ground-breaking of a primary school in Igbe, and various road projects.

In addition, Hon. Fathiu Salisu implored certain elements within the community to refrain from spreading negative rumors and instead work together to support Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba and her administration in all aspects.

Alhaji Jamiu Adisa Baba Golden Jay, Hon. Hassan Adefarasin (former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly), and Olisa Egbin (representative of Oba Egbin) also applauded Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba for her exceptional work in Ijede LCDA.

The event was attended by Alhaji Jamiu Adisa Baba Golden Jay, Hon. Hassan Adefarasin, Olisa Egbin, the Council Manager, former Executive Secretary, Hon. Kabir (Vice Chairman of Ijede LCDA), Hon. Basirat (Deputy Leader of Ijede LCDA), Hon. Nurudeen Saka (Majority Leader of Ijede LCDA), supervisors of Ijede LCDA, management, staff, the Chief Imam of Ijede LCDA, Representative of CAN, and many others.

The “IJEDE TUNRAYO AYO NI TEMI” Food Support Program has become a symbol of Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo-Alogba connection to the community, providing essential assistance to families during challenging times.

As the distribution concluded, the recipients expressed their gratitude and appreciation for the Chairman’s thoughtful initiative, which will undoubtedly make a positive impact on their lives.
