The new face of the Drainage

Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA Chairman, Builder Olusesan Daini, has announced that the council has fixed the Ojota bus stop, sloppy area of Oba Omolaja road, in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA which has been a death trap for commuters.

Daini explained that the council had recorded several casualties in the area, and this was the second time the council would be fixing the road to save the community.

According to Daini, the council had initially fixed the road with babble wire without those concretes and there was no step of a retaining work before now. However, the council has now cast the road with concrete to protect the route.

Before the construction

The drainage has also been reconstructed into a full concrete so that it can receive the water generally and give a step to the gully, so the water will not go directly if anything happens.

Daini further explained that the concrete used could resist a lot of heat, and the council had made sure that the road was not only protected by wire but also concrete of this height. The council has also constructed a collector to collect the water before detaching it.

Speaking on the council’s efforts, Daini said, “What we have done here is to hear the cry of our people, listen to them and do what it takes to save our own community and area.”

The council’s efforts to fix the road have been welcomed by residents of the area, who have expressed gratitude to the council for listening to their cries and fixing the road.
