We Won’t Work For An Imposed Candidate Who Depends on the Role of Sugar Daddy to Win an Election; APC Yagba West Replies Hon. Karimi For Throwing Tantrums at Other Candidates.

Some aggrieved members of the All Progressive Congress APC in Yagba west have replied Hon. Sunday Karimi ahead of the March 11, 2023 election of the Kogi State House of Assembly.

The aggrieved group stated that the candidate of APC for the House of Assembly election was imposed against the interest of the party members and leaders in Yagba west.

“The news around the emergence of the candidature of the flagbearer of APC in Yagba West was not far-fetched from the fact that the government had an interest in who becomes the candidate of the APC for Kogi State House of Assembly in Yagba West.

“Accordingly it was alleged that the candidate is one of the “girlfriends” of a top government official, having a secret affair with a top government appointee in Kogi state, who is playing the role of a “political godfather and sugar daddy” to the candidate, the group insinuated that some leaders in the APC led government in Kogi State just want to use the people and not give a level playing ground to members who have built and worked for the party at the grassroots.

Where is the fair treatment to those who have held the party at the grassroots? How would they expect us to be loyal and work for an individual who has no virtue and moral standards, what will she preach and what foundation would she lay for the younger generations?

The group stated that they are not ready to support a candidate with no moral standards and virtue, imposed against the party through unrefined interest and purpose.

Hon. Karimi is throwing unsolicited tantrums to other candidates whereas our candidate in APC also has enough skeleton in her cupboard that we have decided not to work for her based on the imposition and unpopular acceptance in Yagba West with other stages of unclean records.

The group advised Hon. Sunday Karimi, to stop throwing tantrums as a leader, which is liable to destroy the reputations and integrity of other candidates and allow the people of Yagba West to decide through the ballot as our candidate in APC for House of Assembly Yagba west including Hon. Karimi himself are not saints, that some party loyalist has decided to keep quiet all this while should tell him we just want to promote APC and not create unnecessary logger heads fight that will aggravate the aggrieved members to more anger.

BCLG set to open up opportunities in Lagos Local Governments ~Ajasa-Info

Image

The Body of Computer Cadres in the Unified Local Governments of Lagos State (BCLG) is set to open up the opportunities in Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) around Lagos State to the public, through a Public Discourse scheduled for later in March, 2023.

BCLG, a set-up of Lagos State public servants in Local Governments (LGs) and Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in the state, who handles duties and responsibilities that are Information Technology related. Members of BCLG are the officers of the ICT Unit, newly created in every LGs and LCDAs around the state by the State government in 2022.

The President of BCLG, Ahmed ‘Bola TIJANI, a former Secretary of Nigeria Computer Society, Lagos State Chapter (NCSLAGOS) said that the theme of the Public Discourse is important as it is targeted at exposing members of the public to the new development and possible opportunities at the grassroots government in the state. The theme *”Local Digital Governance for Sustainable Development – Opportunities & Challenges”* will table the opportunities and challenges that can also be converted to more opportunities, especially for those in the tech industry and those willing to invest in Local Governments in the nation’s economic capital.

The BCLG President also informed our correspondent that the push to have this webinar came from the noticed digital inclusivity plan of the Lagos state government. He explained that it was the current Deputy Governor back then as the Commissioner of Ministry of Science and Technology Dr. Femi Hamzat that came up with the idea of establishing ICT Unit in some MDAs of the state, and it was approved by the then governor Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN, with the plan to gradually extend to every MDAs of the state and the third tier of government, the Local Governments. Dr. Femi Hamzat, a fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society, now the Deputy Governor was much instrumental in the Unit establishment in the Local Councils, as it has been planned earlier, and also important in the realization of the current Smart City project of the state.

So, this is a working agenda taking shape step by step. BCLG is taking the opportunity to encourage most especially the young tech CEOs in Lagos to not just focus on Lagos State, but have interest in the working Local Governments systems in the state too. And with this plan of the governor, it is believed that the second term in office of Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Dr. Femi Hamzat, FNCS more opportunities around the deployment of IT/ICT will be in the forefront, carrying the Local Governments along.

The assurance was given in Lagos few days ago by the Director General of the Independent Campaign Council (ICC) Lagos APC, Mr Tayo Ayinde when the Igbo community paid a solidarity visit to the ICC office in Ikeja.

Ayinde said the administration of Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had been working assiduously towards ensuring the health and prosperity of all residents regardless of tribe or religious affiliations which means, he deserves the votes of all residents for a second term in office.

Also, Mr Ayinde and the ICC leadership visited Agege and Ifako-Ijaye local governments for town hall meetings to review the recently held Presidential election.

BARAT AJIBOLA: WHEN DINO SPEAKS ~Ajasa-Info

Image

“Character is the garment that bestows our honour, or the reverse.” It speaks volumes, even when we choose silence. The narrative of character essentialism is not relative, and it is one of the few consistent across the human race.

Unless subjectivity becomes our guide, a man’s character directs our decisions about him and everything that concerns him. On that note, as much as I try, it becomes increasingly urgent that I lend my voice to his public humiliation, even if you won’t hear it but will read from it.

When DINO speaks, discerning minds ignore, or at best find amusement in, his display of empty context, value-eluded thoughts, and hustle-laden spirit. Not DINO, not him, never! He is off the list. He needs to be qualified, far from the class of those whose words and concerns would attract or court our attention.

We get content when DINO speaks; when DINO speaks, we are so excited that another uninvited entertainment creeps in very loudly; though it can be embarrassing, we will manage it along the flow.

Not you, sir, DINO, not you; you are far from the picture we would seek reverence from. Your days of paid relevance are long over.

If I were you, I would quietly find my way back to the Collation Center and wear a hat of respect and honour for the first time, at least pretend to have, hoping that Nigerians can pretend to forget your history of the meaningless character.

If you fail to heed counsel and succeed, along with other greedy, unguided minds, in fomenting chaos, it will surely be one case too many to overlook.

Grow up, and let us be in peace.
