A support group, HOA Addicts, has donated computer sets to two schools in Igbogbo, Ikorodu Division, in honour of the birthday of the Executive Chairman of Igbogbo/Baiyeku Local Council Development Authority (LCDA), Omo’ba Hammed Olalekan Aroyewun.
The beneficiary schools: Methodist Primary School, Igbogbo, and Zumratul Islamiyyah Secondary School, Igbogbo are the Chairman’s alma maters and were selected as part of efforts to promote educational development within the community.
The donation was warmly received by the leadership of both schools, with the Head Teacher of Methodist Primary School and the Principal of Zumratul Islamiyyah Secondary School describing the gesture as timely and impactful.
They noted that access to digital learning tools remains a major challenge for many public schools, and the new computer sets would significantly enhance teaching and learning.
Speaking on behalf of the group, the Coordinator of HOA Addicts, Adeleke Aroyewun, Esq., said the initiative was driven by a sense of gratitude and recognition of the role the schools played in shaping the Executive Chairman’s early years.
According to him, the institutions have long served as pillars of education in Igbogbo/Baiyeku, producing notable individuals across various sectors.
“These schools have consistently built the intellectual and moral foundation of this community over the years. This donation is a token of appreciation for their enduring contribution and a way of giving back,” he said.
He added that providing modern computing tools would not only improve students’ learning experience but also equip them with essential digital skills needed in today’s technology-driven world.
Beyond the immediate donation, the initiative forms part of a broader intervention aimed at strengthening digital infrastructure in local schools.
HOA Addicts disclosed that the larger objective includes the renovation of the ICT centre in collaboration with the Ikorodu Diamond Leo Club, a move expected to further expand access to technology-driven education within the community.
Observers said the gesture reflects a wider commitment to community development and reinvestment, a principle often associated with the Chairman’s leadership style.
By directing a birthday celebration towards supporting educational institutions, the group underscored the importance of purposeful giving and preserving institutional legacy.
Both schools serve a large number of students within Igbogbo and its environs and are considered integral to the educational growth of the area. The newly donated computer sets are expected to boost digital literacy and improve administrative efficiency in the schools.
The presentation was witnessed by school staff, community members, and representatives of HOA Addicts, including Mr. Henry Ikuesan, Mr. Adewunmi Aroyewun, Mr. Ahmed Abdullahi (Bobomi Jnr.), Miss Mojisola Idris, Mr. Sanni Sheriff, and Leo Shitta Abiodun the First Vice President of Ikorodu Diamond Leo Club.
HOA Addicts noted that the initiative forms part of its ongoing efforts to support community-based development projects in alignment with the vision of the LCDA leadership.
