Residents of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area are set to benefit from a renewed social intervention programme as the council chairman, Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, reintroduces a monthly welfare scheme targeted at widows and the elderly.

The initiative, tagged Renewed Hope Monthly Cash Support Scheme for Widows and the Aged, is aimed at providing financial relief and sustained support to some of the most vulnerable members of the community.

According to the council leadership, the programme is a continuation of the Widows and Aged Support Scheme first introduced during Anomo’s initial term in office. It has now been refined and repositioned to deliver more structured, flexible, and impactful assistance directly to beneficiaries.

The scheme is also aligned with the broader Renewed Hope agenda, underscoring the administration’s commitment to people-centered governance and inclusive grassroots development.

Officials noted that the reintroduction of the initiative reflects a deliberate effort to strengthen social safety nets within the council area, particularly for elderly residents and widows who often face economic hardship.

Further details regarding the modalities, beneficiary selection process, and rollout of the programme are expected to be announced in the coming days.
