The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has commended the Dangote Group for its sustained commitment to education and youth empowerment within the Lekki axis.
Engr. Kasali made this known during his attendance at the Dangote Holistic Education Intervention Programme (HEIP), held in Ibeju-Lekki. The programme featured the 6th edition of the Dangote Scholarship Award Programme, where a total of 442 students—comprising 410 secondary school students and 32 tertiary students—from host communities were awarded scholarships.
In addition to the scholarships, educational materials including school bags, uniforms, and sandals were distributed to over 3,700 pupils across selected primary and secondary schools within the benefiting communities.
Delivering his goodwill address, Kasali praised the Dangote Group for its impactful contributions to educational development and encouraged the organisation to expand its interventions to reach more communities.
He also admonished beneficiary students to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to their academic pursuits as a pathway to a brighter future.
The event was attended by the Onilekki of Lekki, HRM Kabiyesi Oba Liasim Ogunbekun, alongside other traditional rulers and key stakeholders. Also present were Engr. Devakuma Edwin, Vice President, Oil and Gas, Dangote Group, and the Secretary to the Local Government, Dr. Bukola Sanusi, among other dignitaries.
