Families and residents in Ikorodu benefitted from the Ramadan and Lenten Season edition of the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation’s Apo Aanu Food Distribution, as the initiative once again extended support to members of the community through the sharing of food items.

The outreach by the foundation of Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was aimed at supporting households during the holy seasons of Ramadan and Lent while promoting compassion, generosity, and service to humanity.

Beneficiaries drawn from different communities across Ikorodu received food packages in an orderly and well-coordinated distribution process.

One of the beneficiaries, Sanusi Faruq from Ward C4 in Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, who participated in the programme for the first time, expressed appreciation for the initiative. According to him, the organization of the distribution was impressive and considerate of vulnerable members of the community.

“I feel impressed considering the fact that it was what I met physically, not just what I heard about. The arrangement was okay and less stressful. I also love the fact that adults and people with disabilities were duly considered during the sharing,” he said.

Faruq noted that welfare initiatives such as the Apo Aanu programme play a crucial role in supporting communities, particularly in view of the current economic realities in the country.

He also used the opportunity to call on residents to contribute positively to community development, especially by keeping the environment clean.

Another first timer, Adesina Fatai, expressed gratitude to Rep. Babajimi Benson. He described the gesture as timely and impactful, noting that the distribution brought relief and joy to many families within the community.

He also commended Hon. Babajimi Benson for his continued efforts toward community development in Ikorodu and encouraged him to sustain the good work.
