Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has been recognised among the 10 Distinguished Women of Excellence in Nigeria in a special International Women’s Day publication by Vanguard Newspaper.

The feature, published in Sunday Vanguard, celebrates outstanding and impactful women whose contributions have significantly shaped Nigeria’s socio-economic, political, business, and leadership landscape.

In a special profile titled “Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada: A Woman on a Mission,” Vanguard highlighted her remarkable journey in leadership, governance, and community development. The publication noted that her administration in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA has been defined by people-centred governance, infrastructural development, and impactful social initiatives.

Under her leadership, the council has recorded notable achievements in infrastructure and governance, including the construction of a Legislative Building, the establishment of a Customary Court, and the development of administrative facilities to enhance effective service delivery.

The report also highlighted key projects such as the Babajide Sanwo-Olu International Market, the Ikosi Fruits Market Phases I and II, modern shopping complexes, and the development of community infrastructure aimed at strengthening commerce and empowering local businesses.

In the healthcare sector, Princess Bada’s administration has prioritised improved medical services through the renovation of Shangisha Health Centre, the commissioning of the 105-bed Senator Oluremi Tinubu Primary Healthcare Centre, and the provision of ambulance buses to improve emergency response across the LCDA.

Additionally, several electrification projects, including transformer installations in strategic communities, have been implemented to enhance reliable power supply for residents and businesses.

Beyond governance, Vanguard noted that Princess Bada has remained committed to humanitarian service, supporting the less privileged and empowering women through various community-based initiatives.

Her recognition among the 10 Distinguished Women of Excellence in Nigeria underscores her growing reputation as a transformative leader dedicated to grassroots development, inclusive governance, and sustainable community impact.
