The HMB Political Movement in collaboration with WomenFold Global Aid Foundation hosted its 4th Annual Ramadan Public Lecture, themed “Moral Values and National Development: A Ramadan Perspective.” The event brought together religious leaders, community stakeholders, and dignitaries to reflect on the role of moral uprightness in national growth.

Delivering the keynote lecture, Sheikh Musa Murtadoh Abolaji (Ainu Ridoh) expressed concern over the current state of the nation, noting that Nigeria’s global image and internal stability have declined compared to previous decades. He questioned why citizens of other countries now view Nigeria with apprehension, stressing that the cost of living and general standard of life have significantly worsened.

According to the cleric, the moral fabric of society has weakened over time. He stated that in the past, the nation thrived because people lived with a stronger consciousness of Almighty Allah.

He emphasized that both leaders and citizens share responsibility for the country’s present challenges, pointing out that daily acts of dishonesty and wrongdoing contribute to national decline.

He highlighted key factors responsible for the country’s struggles, including lies, hypocrisy, and unfulfilled promises. He stressed that the way forward lies in sincerity and accountability, urging government officials to formulate sound policies and adhere strictly to them. He also called for equality, truthfulness, and trust as essential pillars for rebuilding the nation.

Speaking at the event, Hajia Muftiat Bajulaiye, Founder of HMB Political Movement and WomenFold Global Aid Foundation, described the lecture as part of the group’s annual Ramadan activities, noting that this year marked the fourth edition. She appreciated the unwavering support received over the years and commended the guest lecturer for delivering a comprehensive message, adding that meaningful change begins with individuals.

She further extended her gratitude to Hon. Samuel Ajose, Hon. Olanrewaju Osun, Former House of Representatives member, representing Epe, Olasco films, WES Ambassadors and other distinguished personalities who graced the occasion, contributing to the success of the programme.

The annual lecture continues to serve as a platform for spiritual reflection and dialogue on national development, reinforcing the importance of moral responsibility during the holy month of Ramadan.
