The Lekki Local Council Development Area (Lekki LCDA) has carried out a comprehensive fumigation exercise at RCM Primary School, Idotun, reinforcing its commitment to the health and safety of pupils and staff.

The exercise, which took place in the early hours of Thursday, was executed by the Environmental Department of the Council under the leadership of Mrs. Gbemiyi Grace. The intervention followed a directive from the Executive Chairman, Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, who emphasized the need for swift action to safeguard the school environment.

Officials of the department were seen moving from one classroom to another, treating offices and thoroughly covering the entire school premises to eliminate pests and potential health hazards.

Speaking on the exercise, council officials noted that beyond pest control, the initiative was aimed at creating a safe, clean, and comfortable learning environment for the children. They stressed that the well-being of pupils remains a top priority of the administration.

The fumigation forms part of ongoing environmental health efforts by Lekki LCDA to promote hygiene and ensure that public institutions, particularly schools, remain conducive for teaching and learning.
