In a significant move to promote access to higher education, Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has officially distributed 500 free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to indigent students across the council area.

The official presentation ceremony took place on 18th February 2026 at the Ikorodu North LCDA Council Secretariat, following a comprehensive screening exercise conducted to identify genuinely qualified and underprivileged candidates.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman, Mayor Ameen Olawale Ibrahim (Apanisile), reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to educational development and youth empowerment. He noted that the initiative was designed to ease the financial burden on parents while creating opportunities for academically promising students to pursue tertiary education.

According to the Chairman, education remains a vital instrument for community growth, social mobility, and economic transformation, stressing that his government will continue to invest in programmes that uplift young people within Ikorodu North.

Beneficiaries emerged through a transparent screening process, ensuring fairness and credibility in the distribution exercise. The presentation attracted education stakeholders, community leaders, parents, and well-wishers who commended the council for the laudable intervention.

Residents described the initiative as timely and impactful, urging beneficiaries to maximize the opportunity by excelling in their examinations and becoming worthy ambassadors of Ikorodu North LCDA.
