The Executive Chairman of Ikorodu Local Government, Prince Adedayo Ladega, distributed free 2026 JAMB forms to indigent students at the Council Secretariat, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to advancing education in the community.

Speaking at the event, the council boss said the initiative was not just about distributing forms but about giving hope and opportunity to young people in the community.

He recalled that in August 2025, the council distributed free GCE forms, noting that the current gesture was a continuation of that commitment to youth development.

According to him, the programme forms part of his administration’s SEED Agenda—Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development.

He emphasized that education remains a critical pillar of the agenda, stressing that investing in students is equivalent to building the future of Ikorodu.
Addressing the beneficiaries, the Chairman urged them to study hard, believe in themselves, and maximize the opportunity provided.

He also appreciated parents and guardians for their unwavering support, while commending the Vice Chairman, legislative members, management team, and council staff for their dedication to community growth. “Real development begins when we lift others as we rise. By giving these forms freely, we are planting seeds for future success,” he stated.

The Vice Chairman, Hon. Babalwale Alogba, also expressed appreciation to the Chairman for giving the students the opportunity and encouraged the beneficiaries to excel in their examinations.

In his remarks, the Head of Department (HOD) for Education, Mr. Ashafa Babalola, described the initiative as a thoughtful gesture, noting that many parents might not have been able to afford the JAMB registration fees.

He advised the students not to treat the opportunity as a trial attempt but to study diligently and aim for university admission.

Comrade Japheth Odesanya commended the Chairman for sustaining the initiative, praising his consistency and commitment to education.

Similarly, the Leader of the House, Hon. Shotomiwa Wasiu Babatunde, lauded the Chairman for what he described as a laudable initiative that will positively impact many families.

Some of the students expressed gratitude for the support. One of the beneficiaries, Ilesanmi Rizqia, thanked the Chairman for the privilege, assuring that she would prepare thoroughly for the examination.

Another student, Okematti Fareedah, pledged to study hard, achieve her goals, and make the Chairman proud, while praying for continued blessings upon him.
