The Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Princess Samiat Abolanle Bada, has reaffirmed her administration’s unwavering commitment to educational advancement as the council held its 2026 Annual Free JAMB Forms Distribution for indigent students in the community.

Addressing beneficiaries, parents, and stakeholders at the event, the Mayoress described the initiative as more than a routine distribution exercise, emphasizing that it represents a gateway to greater opportunities for young people in Ikosi-Isheri.
“Today is not just about distributing forms. It is about opening doors. It is about ensuring that no hardworking student in Ikosi-Isheri LCDA is denied opportunity because of financial challenges,” she stated.

Princess Bada explained that since the inception of her administration, the council has maintained a consistent record of providing free JAMB forms to indigent students every year without interruption. According to her, the sustained implementation of the programme reflects her administration’s firm belief that access to education must never be determined by family income.

She further noted that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in expanding access to education and dismantling structural barriers that hinder academic progression.

She highlighted the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a key federal intervention designed to enable students pursue higher education without the burden of upfront tuition payments.
With NELFUND addressing institutional financing at the national level and the Ikosi-Isheri LCDA covering the cost of JAMB registration locally, the Mayoress said both tiers of government are working deliberately to remove financial obstacles standing in the way of capable students.

“No capable student in our community should be denied higher education because of financial limitation,” she affirmed.
Beyond the annual JAMB support scheme, Princess Bada outlined other educational interventions undertaken by her administration.

These include the construction of classroom blocks, rehabilitation and improvement of public primary schools, distribution of learning materials, provision of scholarships and grants to outstanding students, and initiatives designed to reward and promote academic excellence.
“We are deliberate. We are strategic. We are results-driven,” she declared, underscoring the measurable impact of the council’s investments in the education sector.

The Mayoress urged the beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity provided, describing the JAMB form as an entry point to a brighter future. She encouraged them to prepare with discipline, aim high, and compete confidently in the examination.
She also acknowledged the sacrifices of parents and guardians, reassuring them of the council’s continued partnership in nurturing and supporting the next generation.

Calling on residents to sustain their support for progressive leadership and ongoing reforms, she assured that such backing would ensure the continuity and expansion of educational gains in the LCDA.
“In Ikosi-Isheri, we translate Renewed Hope into visible impact. Together, we are empowering the next generation and securing the future,” she concluded.

Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the council for the gesture. One of them, Awosanya Morenikeji, appreciated the Mayoress for the opportunity, promising to do her best to obtain an excellent grade in the examination.

Another beneficiary, Eyitayo, thanked the Chairman for what he described as a wonderful opportunity and pledged to study hard and pass the examination successfully.
