
In a show of commitment to supporting the community, 500 residents of Ikorodu federal constituency received support through the February edition of the Apo Aanu food distribution programme, by the Jimi Benson iCare Foundation.
The monthly outreach, held on Saturday at the constituency office of Babajimi Benson along Ebute–Igbogbo Road, Ikorodu, forms part of the Foundation’s sustained humanitarian interventions targeted at reducing hunger and supporting vulnerable members of the community.
Apo Aanu, a personal give-back initiative of the lawmaker, has become a consistent monthly feature under the iCare programme.
The February distribution, which catered to 500 beneficiaries, further underscored the Foundation’s commitment to alleviating food insecurity across the constituency.
Beneficiaries who spoke during the exercise expressed heartfelt appreciation for the gesture.
One of the recipients, Olasunkanmi, described the programme as impactful and commended Hon. Benson for his continued support to the people.
Another beneficiary, popularly known as Iya Ibeta Alagbgbala, expressed joy at receiving the food items, noting that access to food remains a basic necessity of life. She offered prayers for the lawmaker to continue his good works for the benefit of the community.
Pastor Adeleye Samuel from Oke-Oke community, who benefited from the gesture for the first time, also expressed gratitude and prayed for God’s strength and upliftment for the lawmaker to sustain the initiative.
Elder Ayodele, in his remarks, praised Hon. Benson’s generosity and consistency, stating that the community would continue to support him in his future aspirations.
The Apo Aanu food distribution remains a core component of the Foundation’s iCare programme, designed to provide direct relief and improve the welfare of residents across Ikorodu constituency.
