The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), has sustained his monthly food distribution initiative, reaching 2,000 beneficiaries across communities in the LCDA as part of the February 2026 exercise.

The initiative, which aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, is aimed at easing the daily economic challenges faced by vulnerable groups, including the elderly, widows, widowers, and other disadvantaged residents within Lekki LCDA.

The February distribution was conducted in two phases, with Phase One held on Friday and Phase Two carried out on Saturday, February 7, 2026. Food items were distributed directly to beneficiaries through a door-to-door approach across various communities.

According to the Chairman, the monthly food distribution programme began during the 2023 nationwide palliative exercise, and he made a commitment to sustain the initiative beyond that period.

He noted that the continued distribution reflects his administration’s resolve to support residents and ensure that relief reaches those who need it most.

Engr. Kasali added that the programme remains a key grassroots intervention of his administration, aimed at reducing hardship and improving the welfare of vulnerable residents in Lekki LCDA.
