The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Lagos State Chapter, on Thursday, February 6, 2026, hosted the maiden edition of the Public Relations Officers’ (PROs) Workshop at the Lagos Youth House, Akinwunmi Street, Alagomeji, Yaba, in partnership with the Lagos Youth Development Institute (LYDI).
The workshop brought together PROs from various local governments across the state for intensive training in strategic communications, branding, social media management, public communication protocols, creative media, ethical leadership, teamwork, and introductory photography, among other key areas.
Described as the first of its kind in Lagos, the initiative was conceived by the NYCN Lagos Public Relations Officer, Comr. Victor K. Adogbajale, to reposition local government PROs for effective engagement in the digital age, in line with the council’s P3+ Agenda—Professionalism, Productivity and Publicity—under the leadership of the State Chairman, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of LYDI, Dr. Ademosu Jamiu, urged participants to apply the knowledge gained with seriousness and professionalism.
Participants were subsequently certified for their active participation, reaffirming NYCN Lagos’ commitment to youth empowerment, leadership development, and the strengthening of community values across the state.
