As part of sustained efforts to enhance safety and preparedness within the education sector, the Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), through its Education and Library Services Department, has organised a Security Awareness Programme for schools across the council area.
The programme was designed to educate students and school personnel on essential security measures, with a focus on personal safety, situational awareness, and appropriate responses to potential threats within and around the school environment.
Participants were taken through basic security tips aimed at preventing incidents, recognising suspicious activities, and promoting a culture of vigilance among students, teachers, and school administrators. The interactive sessions also emphasised the importance of timely reporting and cooperation with relevant security agencies.
Officials of the Education and Library Services Department noted that the initiative aligns with the Executive Chairman’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, particularly within educational institutions, while strengthening security consciousness at the grassroots level.
The council reiterated its resolve to continue implementing proactive measures and awareness programmes that ensure a safe and conducive learning environment for students across Lekki LCDA.
