The wife of the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mrs. Ramat Bola Kasali, has visited the Skill Acquisition Centre in Orimedu to encourage students who recently commenced vocational training under a council-supported empowerment initiative.

The programme, which began with registrations in August 2025, was initiated by Mrs. Kasali to provide practical skills to youths within the council area. As part of her commitment, she personally sponsored the students’ registration fees and continues to fund their practical sessions, including the provision of training equipment on a weekly basis.

With the registration process successfully concluded, beneficiaries of the initiative have now started their training, which is expected to span nine months. The programme is designed to equip participants with relevant vocational skills aimed at promoting self-reliance and economic independence.

During her visit, Mrs. Kasali interacted with the trainees, inspected the facilities at the centre, and expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded so far. She encouraged the students to remain focused, disciplined, and committed to the programme, describing the initiative as a long-term investment in their personal growth and future livelihoods.

The students, in turn, expressed gratitude to Mrs. Kasali for her continuous support and for taking time to personally visit the centre to motivate them.

The initiative aligns with the broader agenda of the Lekki LCDA administration to empower youths, reduce unemployment, and foster self-reliance across communities within the council area.
