Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo, the representative for Ikorodu Constituency 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly, has encouraged constituents to take advantage of the All Progressives Congress (APC) nationwide e-registration exercise to formalize their party membership.
The APC’s initiative aims to digitize and expand its grassroots base, and Hon. Ogunleye Gbolahan Adetokunbo is urging constituents to participate in the e-registration exercise to ensure their membership is formalized and to potentially increase their involvement in the party’s activities.
The exercise, which officially commenced on Monday, January 5, 2026, is part of a broader national initiative by the APC to modernize its database and streamline party administration ahead of future electoral cycles. By transitioning to a digital platform, the party aims to provide “card-carrying” members with a more secure and verifiable identity within the political fold.
The party has set clear guidelines for residents looking to join the “Progressives.” To participate in the e-registration, applicants must meet two primary criteria:
Age Limit: Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
Identification: A valid National Identification Number (NIN) and Permanent Voters Card (PVC) are mandatory for verification to ensure the integrity of the membership roll.
Hon. Ogunleye, who also serves as the Chairman of the House Committee on Overseas Investment, emphasized that this exercise is a crucial step for any resident who wishes to have a voice in the party’s internal democracy. “To be a card-carrying member of our party is to be a stakeholder in the future of our constituency and our nation,” the lawmaker noted in a statement accompanying the launch.
The shift to electronic registration is expected to eliminate the logistical hurdles associated with manual paper-based systems. It allows for real-time data synchronization with the national secretariat, providing a more transparent view of the party’s strength across various wards and local government areas.
Residents of Ikorodu Constituency 1 are encouraged to visit designated registration points in Ikorodu Central, Ikorodu West LCDA and Ikorodu North LCDA or access the official party portal to begin the process. Party officials have also been deployed to provide technical assistance to those who may face challenges with the digital interface.
