First Lady Oluremi Tinubu Calls for Peaceful Coexistence to Foster National Prosperity
The First Lady of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to embrace peaceful coexistence as a foundation for national prosperity, stressing that unity remains a divine prerequisite for progress. She made the call in Kaduna during the annual distribution of food items to members of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum (CNNPF) in celebration of Christmas and the New Year.

Quoting the Holy Bible, the First Lady reminded Nigerians that God commands His blessings where people live together in unity. She expressed optimism about the future of the country, noting that despite prevailing global and local challenges, Nigeria is on a positive path. “Let us all stay and make Nigeria great again. Good things are already happening in this country,” she said.

Senator Tinubu commended the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, for the deliberate steps taken to promote religious harmony in the state, describing Kaduna as a model other states should emulate. She called on Nigerians to live peacefully with one another and to act as their brothers’ keepers, emphasizing that true nation-building can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.

She further thanked the Governor of Kaduna State, his wife, Hajia Hafsat Uba Sani, and the people of the state for their warm reception and hospitality. According to her, Kaduna State has demonstrated that Nigerians can live together harmoniously regardless of religious or ethnic differences.

The First Lady also seized the opportunity to commend members of Nigeria’s creative industry for projecting the country positively on the global stage. She encouraged them to collaborate with the government to support national development and improve the lives of more Nigerians, pledging her readiness to partner with them in nation-building efforts.

In his remarks, Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the First Lady as true lovers of Nigeria whose leadership exemplifies service, compassion, and national unity. He said their commitment to the welfare of Nigerians continues to inspire confidence, strengthen social cohesion, and reinforce hope for a more inclusive future.

Governor Uba Sani particularly praised the First Lady’s inclusive philanthropy, noting that her compassion cuts across religious, ethnic, and regional boundaries. He said her consistent support for the vulnerable and voiceless reflects the highest ideals of unity, empathy, and shared responsibility, earning her widespread admiration across the country.

Also speaking at the event, the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Father Hyacinth Alia, acknowledged the improved peace in Kaduna State, attributing it to the determination and conscientious leadership of Governor Uba Sani, who he said draws inspiration from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, assured Nigerians that with the various initiatives and programmes of the APC-led Federal Government and APC-controlled states, the year 2026 would be better for the country.

The National Coordinator of the Christian Northern Nigeria Political Forum, Ibrahim Itodo, commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for sustaining national unity and prayed for his successful re-election in 2027.

He also appealed to Northern governors to emulate the peace-building strategies of the Kaduna State Governor in their respective states.
