Princess Samiat Bada, Mayoress of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, has officially flagged off the 2nd Edition of the Renewed Hope Trade Fair & Exhibition, a major community-driven economic initiative scheduled to run from December 5th to December 14th. The 10-day fair is designed to boost commerce, empower local entrepreneurs, and promote grassroots prosperity.

Declaring the fair open, Princess Samiat Bada noted that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope vision of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and supports the economic development agenda of Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. She stated that the council is committed to providing platforms that stimulate commerce, empower local entrepreneurs, and expand opportunities for families and businesses.

She emphasized that the trade fair is not just a market event but a community-driven economic programme aimed at promoting local content, encouraging innovation and supporting livelihoods across the LCDA.

The marketplace buzzed with activity as vendors showcased a wide variety of products at affordable and discounted prices. Items on display include electronics, mobile phones and accessories, home appliances, wears for men, women and children, ready-to-wear outfits, beverages, hair and organic beauty products, foodstuffs, bags, vehicle and auto accessories, land and property offers, jewellery, cosmetics, perfumes, shoes, palm wine, kitchenware, household items, furniture, toys, school supplies, festive decorations, agricultural produce, health and wellness products, wristwatches, gadgets, gift items, provisions, interior décor pieces, and many more.

Hon. Femi Saheed, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly representing Kosofe Constituency 2, described the trade fair as a welcome and commendable initiative. He applauded Princess Bada for her commitment to community development and for creating a well-organized platform that brings traders and buyers together.

He encouraged residents to patronize the fair, adding: “The prices of the products are very cheap, and this is an opportunity everyone should take advantage of.”

Also speaking, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jamiu Lawal Aileru I, the Oba of Shangisha-Magodo, praised Princess Samiat Bada for her support towards traders and her role in strengthening commercial activities within the community. He commended her thoughtfulness and dedication to the economic well-being of the people.

Former Executive Secretary of Ikosi-Isheri LCDA, Hon. Afolabi Kazeem, who attended the event, also commended the Mayoress. He recalled his presence at last year’s edition and expressed delight at the massive turnout for the 2024 fair. He prayed for Princess Bada’s continued success and encouraged residents to patronise made-in-Ikosi products, stressing: “There is no need to go to the Island, Yaba, or other far markets when quality and affordable items are right here.”

The 2025 Community Trade Fair continues until December 14th, drawing growing numbers of residents as it provides both festive shopping convenience and a platform for expanding local businesses.
