
Hundreds of households in Ikorodu Federal Constituency have received food packs as Rep. Babajimi Benson, Member House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency continues his commitment to alleviating economic hardship among his constituents through the Apo Anu program.
Apo Anu, a monthly food support initiative launched in 2016 by Rep. Benson through his iCare Foundation, has consistently provided essential food items to vulnerable members of the community for nine years. The program specifically targets senior citizens, persons with disabilities, unemployed youth, and other residents in need across the constituency.
The latest distribution, coordinated through Rep. Benson’s constituency office, saw at least 500 beneficiaries receive packages containing rice, beans, palm oil, indomie, spaghetti, and other essential commodities. This represents the lawmaker’s sustained effort to support vulnerable families amid rising living costs.
Since its inception in 2016, thousands of families in Ikorodu have benefited from the monthly distributions, making Apo Anu a signature program of the iCare Foundation. The initiative has become a lifeline for many residents struggling with economic challenges.
Speaking after receiving the assistance, beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the lawmaker’s intervention. Mrs. Adebisi Olatunji described the gesture as timely, noting that the food items would significantly ease her daily household expenses. “I’m so grateful to Rep. Benson for remembering us.” she said.
Mr. Olawale Ademola, another beneficiary, characterized the distribution as a significant relief for his family. “Rep. Benson’s gesture is a huge relief to me and my family. We’re grateful for his selfless service to the community. May he continue to be blessed,” he stated.
Mrs. Funmilayo Alli echoed similar sentiments, describing the Apo Anu as valuable support for her household during challenging economic times. “I’m so thankful to Rep. Benson for this Apo Anu. It’s a big help to me and my family. May God increase his blessings,” she said.
