
Ikorodu North Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Thursday convened its Stakeholders’ Consultative Forum as part of preparations for the 2026 fiscal year budget. The event brought together traditional rulers, political office holders, youth representatives, community leaders, and persons with disabilities to discuss development priorities and contribute to the budgeting process.

The Mayor of Ikorodu North LCDA, Hon. Ameen Olawale Apanishile, welcomed participants and expressed gratitude for their continued dedication to the growth of the community. He reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and encouraged stakeholders to share their ideas freely, noting that their contributions would help shape a budget that reflects the needs of all residents.
During the forum, the Mayor highlighted several completed and ongoing projects across the LCDA. At Odo-Nla Health Centre, various initiatives have been completed, including the provision of an ambulance, staff quarters, and a waiting area for patients. He noted that many more projects are underway, emphasizing that these achievements mark only the beginning of the administration’s long-term development agenda.
In terms of road infrastructure, through facilitation Adamo–Araro Road, completed while several others remain under construction both Facilitation and Council funded. These include the Agbede–Ita Oluwo Road and the John Okon–Oluwaseun Road, among others.
He assured residents that additional road projects are in the pipeline, aimed at improving transportation and boosting economic activities across the LCDA.
Stakeholders also shared their expectations and requests. The Ikorodu North chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), represented by Adewale Jackson, called for the establishment of a dedicated youth centre, as well as support for bursaries, JAMB registration assistance, and skill acquisition programmes. He also appreciated the council’s recent sponsorship of youths to a conference in Abeokuta and requested the provision of a bus for youth activities.
Representatives of Persons Living With Disabilities (PWDs) appealed for employment opportunities, empowerment initiatives, and access to supportive devices that will improve their quality of life.
The Head of Budget, Planning and Statistics, Mr. Tope, praised the council chairman for the impressive developmental strides recorded within the administration’s first 100 days, describing the achievements as remarkable and encouraging.
The event drew the presence of notable dignitaries, including Oba Olukayode David Raji, the Eweye of Isiwu; the Vice Chairman of Ikorodu North, Hon. Matthew Adesanya; APC Ikorodu and Ikorodu North Chairman, Otunba Olasunkanmi Tijani; the Leader of Ikorodu North Legislative Council, Hon. Bose Benson and other councillors.
