Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Executive Chairman, Hon. Idris Balogun, has marked his first 100 days in office with the commissioning of Phidel College Street, Prince Tunde Balogun/Abeokuta Street, Market/Jemi Alade Street, and Olisa Street. He also procured a caterpillar, a roller, an ambulance, an executive bus, and a legislative bus.

He also rolled out an extensive empowerment programme aimed at supporting residents across the community. As part of the celebration, beneficiaries received cash support of ₦100,000 each, also graduates of Skill Acquisition received empowerment tools including digital cameras, generators, barbing kits, hairdressing equipment, sewing machines, shoe-making machines, make-up kits, ovens and gas cylinders for caterers, tie-and-dye equipment, and tablets.

Hon. Balogun described the 100-day milestone as a significant moment in the shared journey between his administration and the people of Egbe-Idimu. He expressed deep gratitude to residents for entrusting him with what he called a sacred mandate to lead with integrity, compassion, and a genuine commitment to progress.

According to him, true leadership is reflected not in occupying an office but in uplifting people through consistent, meaningful action.

Balogun highlighted several achievements recorded in his first 100 days, noting that they were driven by his administration’s focus on improving education, infrastructure, governance, and social welfare.

In education, the council distributed school bags, uniforms, and learning materials to pupils while strengthening collaboration with teachers and parents. He emphasized that every child in Egbe-Idimu deserves access to quality education and the opportunity to build a future powered by knowledge.

In the area of infrastructure, he explained that the council intensified road rehabilitation efforts, cleared key drainage channels, and strengthened environmental sanitation measures to create cleaner and safer communities. A key highlight of the celebration was the official commissioning of a newly completed road, which Balogun described as a major step toward improving mobility, boosting local commerce, and easing daily movement for residents.

The chairman also pointed out reforms in governance and public service delivery, noting improvements in transparency, responsiveness, and direct engagement with community members. He assured residents that the council would continue operating an open-door policy while maintaining close relationships with Community Development Associations (CDAs) and other grassroots stakeholders to enhance inclusive development.

Balogun expressed appreciation to traditional rulers, political leaders, civil servants, partners, and residents for their unwavering support and encouragement. He emphasized that the accomplishments of the first 100 days represent only the beginning of his long-term plans for Egbe-Idimu.

He reaffirmed his commitment to fairness, accountability, and dedicated service, promising that the months and years ahead would bring even greater transformation to the LCDA as he works tirelessly toward building a peaceful, prosperous, and progressive Egbe-Idimu.

Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, who was represented by Hon. Nureini Akinsanya, lauded the chairman’s commitment to service. He stated that the achievements recorded so far are impressive and urged Balogun to maintain the pace. According to him, the steady progress witnessed across Egbe-Idimu is proof of purposeful leadership.

The Onikotun of Ikotun, Oba Azeez Gbadabiu Asiwaju, also expressed admiration for the council chairman’s performance. He noted that achieving such remarkable results in a short period demonstrates Balogun’s dedication to the development of the local government and his passion for uplifting the people.

Hon. Bisi Yusuf, Director General of the Grassroot Movement for Tinubu 2027, described the achievements as only the beginning of greater accomplishments ahead. He stated that Balogun’s performance mirrors the expectations of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, adding that the chairman is effectively justifying the funds allocated to local governments by the Federal Government. Yusuf emphasized that achieving so much within 100 days is no small feat.

Similarly, Hon. Sesan Olowa, Chairman of the Conference 57 Chairmen in Lagos State, said Balogun’s first 100 days in office have been “spectacular.” He explained that the forum of council chairmen closely monitors each local government’s performance and that Egbe-Idimu LCDA stands out for its remarkable progress. He further noted that Balogun’s implementation of conditional cash transfers aligns with a broader initiative that other local government chairmen in Lagos are encouraged to adopt.

The APC Chairman in Egbe-Idimu, Alhaji Akibu, commended the chairman for delivering substantial results within just three months. He highlighted Balogun’s commitment to party welfare, infrastructure development, and empowerment programmes, describing the achievements as “huge” and reflective of a leader who takes his responsibilities seriously.

Dr. Abdulazeez Olajide, popularly known as Jandor, also applauded the chairman’s performance. He expressed delight at witnessing the level of development achieved within such a short period, adding that the success recorded so far would not have been possible without the support and policy direction of the President of Nigeria.

The Chairman of the Community Development Committee (CDC), Hon. Rabiu Kazeem, praised Balogun’s performance as “excellent,” noting that the LCDA had experienced significant improvements in just a few months. He affirmed that residents are proud of the chairman’s progress-driven leadership and expressed confidence in more achievements to come.
