
The Legislative Council of Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) yesterday held a strategic plenary session with the Local Joint Task Force Commander and Chief Security Officer to the Chairman, Mr. Oludare Igbasan, alongside key officers of the Local Joint Task Force (JTF), to deliberate on security preparedness ahead of the forthcoming festive season.
During the session, Honourable Councillors and the JTF leadership engaged in robust and constructive discussions centered on ensuring the protection of lives and property across the LCDA during the busy festive period.
Following the deliberations, the Legislative Council resolved that the Joint Task Force should intensify security operations and remain on high alert to safeguard residents and visitors as the community approaches major celebrations — beginning with the Igbogbo Day Festival and continuing through the Christmas and New Year festivities.
The Legislative Council further emphasized the need for proactive security measures, stronger inter-agency collaboration, and enhanced community vigilance to guarantee a peaceful and hitch-free festive season and beyond.
The Legislative Council reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to supporting the Joint Task Force in maintaining peace, law, and order within the LCDA, while commending the JTF officers for their dedication and continued service to the community.
