The recognition took place during the 22nd Biennial Memorial Lecture held in honour of the late Professor Anthony A. Adegbola, a revered academic, educator, and community development pioneer. The event brought together community leaders, scholars, and dignitaries.

As a Founding Father, Asiwaju Basorun played a pivotal role in the establishment of the Ikorodu Division Resource Development Group, working alongside other eminent sons of Ikorodu to create a platform dedicated to advancing education, human development, and infrastructural progress within the division.

Among his numerous achievements, he was instrumental in the completion of the Ultra-modern Ikorodu Town Hall, a testament to his vision and commitment to community development.
