The political atmosphere in Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area (LCDA) was electrified yesterday as the Amazone Group held its inaugural meeting in Igbogbo — signaling the emergence of a new grassroots movement in support of Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA) and his anticipated second term in office.

The meeting was convened by Olushola Owolabi, popularly known as Omo Teacher from Ward C1, and drew a large crowd of passionate supporters, political enthusiasts, and community leaders from across the LCDA.

The Amazone Group is coordinated by a dedicated team of young and vibrant political mobilizers, including:

Kolejo Faithia (Ward C1)

Taofeek Olawale Ipaye (Ward C2)

Comr. Hassan Akinyemi Aliu (Ward C5)

Odunayo Idowu (Kolabo) (Ward C2/C3)

Adeyemi Sharafdeen Kehinde (Ward C2)

Adeyemi Surajudeen Taiwo (Ward C2)

Also in attendance were Hon. Wasiu Olowu, the Coordinator of AMA Team Smile in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, while Hon. Adewale Bolowotan, the Director General of AMA Team Smile was unavoidablyabsent. Their presence added weight to the event and reflected the growing synergy among pro-AMA groups working for unity and continuity across the constituency.

According to the convener, Omo Teacher, the Amazone Group originated from a political circle he established before the 2019 general elections. Over time, the group expanded and evolved through consistent engagement and community outreach until it metamorphosed into the Amazone Movement — a coalition now jointly led by vibrant grassroots actors such as Kolejo Faithia, Taofeek Ipaye, Comr. Hassan Aliu, Idowu Hameed Odunayo, and the Adeyemi brothers, Sharafdeen and Surajudeen.

The central goal of the coalition is political integration and mobilization across Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA, aimed at creating a strong, united, and dependable front in support of Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun’s reelection and the continued progress of the area.

The inaugural meeting witnessed an impressive turnout from all wards, CDAs, and community groups within the LCDA. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm, as participants pledged loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC) and to the visionary leadership of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun.

Many of those who joined the movement were not traditional politicians but residents who have come to admire Hon. AMA’s integrity, humility, and developmental impact in Ijede and across Ikorodu Division.

During the meeting, members were admonished to be active members of the APC, to regularly attend ward and LGA meetings, and to uphold unity and discipline within the group. The leadership emphasized that the Amazone Group is not just a political outfit but a community-driven movement dedicated to positive change and sustainable representation.

It was also revealed that Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun had no prior knowledge of the group’s formation until its inauguration. Upon learning of the development, he reportedly expressed pleasant surprise and heartfelt appreciation, describing the Amazone Movement as a humbling testament to genuine love and trust from his people.

With its inclusive structure, youth-driven leadership, and strong alignment with the ideals of AMA Team Smile, the Amazone Group is quickly emerging as a formidable political force in Igbogbo/Baiyeku LCDA.

By connecting with residents across wards, CDAs, and streets, the movement is not only strengthening the reelection campaign of Hon. Aro Moshood Abiodun but also reaffirming the unity and progressive spirit that define the people of Igbogbo/Baiyeku.
