The Lagos State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) successfully concluded its three-day Local Branch Coordinators’ Exchange Retreat, which brought together youth leaders from across the state to foster collaboration, capacity building, and visionary leadership at the grassroots level.

Comr. Amb. Oshodi John Ayodele, Coordinator of the NYCN Itire-Ikate Branch, was among the active participants who engaged in the series of sessions designed to build bridges among coordinators and enhance their leadership capacity.

At the three-day retreat, which also featured interactive workshops and networking sessions, youth leaders deliberated on strategies to strengthen community engagement, promote unity, and advance youth development across Lagos State.

A major highlight of Day 3 was the participation of the Senior Special Assistant to the Ogun State Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Tunde Delu, alongside representatives of the NYCN Ogun State Chapter led by Comr. Oloye Akolawole Shoremi. Their presence added immense value to the program and reinforced the bond of partnership between youth leaders from Lagos and Ogun States.

Addressing the coordinators, the NYCN Lagos State Chairman and Chairman, Forum of NYCN State Chairmen, Engr. Adigun Ibrahim Olalekan, urged participants to continue projecting the positive image of the Council. He also encouraged them to replicate similar leadership and exchange retreats at their respective local branches to further build unity and capacity among grassroots youth leaders.

The retreat concluded with a feedback session, during which coordinators expressed appreciation to the State Executive Council for organizing what they described as an impactful and transformative program. They commended the Adigun-led administration for its unwavering dedication to youth development and for creating a platform that promotes shared learning and collective growth.

As part of the day’s activities, participants also paid a memorable visit to the historic Olumo Rock in Abeokuta — a symbol of strength and resilience that mirrors the spirit of Nigerian youth.

The three-day retreat ended on an inspiring note as participants departed back to Lagos, renewed in vision and commitment to advancing youth leadership and community development across their localities.
